Prevention
Get in early. Build the habits, the confidence and the people around you before life lands a heavy shot.
Prevention. Intervention.
Through The Ropes is a social impact movement for the people life has pushed onto the ropes, whoever they are. A 10-week mentoring programme, designed by a world champion boxer, a neuroscientist, a coach and a nutritionist, that builds new habits, gives you a crew from day one, and springboards change that lasts.

Not a gym. A movement.
This programme isn't about producing champions. It's about producing self-respecting, focused people. The kind who lift the room. The kind who lift their community.
We use the discipline of boxing because it works. Turn up, put the work in, get back up. Do that for ten weeks with people who believe in you, and you start to believe it too.
Two ways we step in
Get in early. Build the habits, the confidence and the people around you before life lands a heavy shot.
Already up against the ropes? We step in, back you up and help you find your feet again, then help you build what comes next.
What ten weeks gives you
Three sessions a week, small wins every day, and a routine that sticks long after the gloves come off.
From your first session you're part of a crew. People who notice when you're missing and cheer when you show up.
Ten weeks ends in a community showcase. You'll stand up in front of the people who watched you grow, and own it.
Watch the why
Michael Katsidis has held world titles. He has also lived through grief, addiction, prison and trauma. Through The Ropes is how he turns every round of it into a corner for someone else.
Michael Katsidis and Mr Purple share the vision. The highs of a world title, the lows of grief, addiction and prison, and why that journey became a movement.
A movement that knows no borders
Our first hub is in Melbourne. Our mentors are matched by postcode, with video and phone sessions for anyone who isn't near one yet. If you need a corner, there's one for you.
Who we help
People leaving prison, young people at risk, survivors of family violence, people looking for work and more. See the Australian numbers for each group, and where the programme can make a real difference.
Adults in prison in Australia. Six in ten have been in prison before. The weeks after release matter most.
Young people under youth justice supervision on an average day. Four in five are supervised in the community, where a mentor can be part of everyday life.
Women who have experienced violence from an intimate partner. Recovery needs safety, strength and people.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people: a young, growing population and the oldest continuing cultures on Earth.
Australians with disability, one in five of us. Many face barriers to sport, work and community.
Australians unemployed in September 2026. Young people are hit hardest.
